Professor Ho is an expert in developing scalable computational methods for analyzing single-cell omics data, metagenomic data, and digital health data.

He has published over 139 research papers, including first‑author and senior‑author articles in leading journals such as Nature, Nature Communications, Genome Biology, Nucleic Acids Research, and Cell Systems. He currently serves as Co‑Director of the Bachelor of Science in Bioinformatics programme at HKU, Associate Director of Educational Innovation (Artificial Intelligence and Academic Lead of the Bioinformatics Core at the Centre for PanorOmics Science (CPOS). He is an Executive Editor of the journal Biophysical Reviews and a co‑founder of the digital health company Vitome Limited.

Professor Ho holds an Associate Professorship at HKU’s School of Biomedical Sciences. He earned his Bachelor of Science in Bioinformatics (First Class Honours) and Ph.D. from The University of Sydney, followed by postdoctoral training at Harvard Medical School.
